Background

The Australian Egg Corporation Limited (AECL) makes investments in research and development (R&D) on behalf of the Australian egg industry and the community as a whole.  The goal of our R&D Program is to improve efficiency, sustainability, egg quality, education and technology transfer in the Australian egg industry.

AECL takes an industry-targeted and market-focused approach to R&D.  Proposals for both production-oriented and off-farm R&D, including markets and marketing systems research, are encouraged.  R&D is defined by AECL as systematic experimentation or analysis in any field of science, technology, business or economics carried out to acquire or apply knowledge for any aspect of marketing, processing, storage, transport or production as it pertains to the Australian egg industry.

Any organisation, company or individual is eligible for support to undertake R&D activity that addresses AECL's key long term and immediate research priorities.  R&D activity includes research projects, feasibility studies, training, dissemination of information, provision of advice or assistance and the publication of reports, periodicals, books or papers on R&D activity.

AECL's R&D Program is listed on the Australian Competitive Grants Register (ACGR) under Commonwealth Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry schemes.
